History.

The Pz.Kpfw. V Panther Ausf. A at Muzeum Pancerne w Kętrzynie is one of the rare surviving examples of Germany’s formidable WWII medium tank. Introduced in 1943, the Panther Ausf. A was an upgraded version featuring improved turret design, a stronger 75mm KwK 42 L/70 gun, and better armour protection. It was crucial in battles such as Kursk, where its firepower and mobility outmatched Soviet T-34s.

The museum's Panther was recovered from battlefields in Poland and meticulously restored, showcasing its original camouflage. According to local historians, this tank likely took part in fierce Eastern Front engagements. Visitors can view its robust sloped armour, advanced suspension system, and authentic wartime markings. A testament to German engineering, the Panther Ausf. A at Kętrzyn remains a centrepiece for military history enthusiasts and a symbol of the technological race of WWII.
