The Dassault Mirage 2000-5F is an advanced multirole fighter developed from the original Mirage 2000, entering service with the French Air and Space Force in the late 1990s. The ā-5ā upgrade focused on improved avionics, notably the RDY radar, enabling beyond-visual-range combat with MICA missiles. The 2000-5F variant was optimised primarily for air defence, replacing older Mirage F1 interceptors. It featured enhanced cockpit displays, improved electronic warfare systems and better situational awareness. The aircraft has played a key role in French air policing and NATO operations, including Baltic Air Policing. Although gradually being replaced by the Rafale, the Mirage 2000-5F remains an important part of Franceās air defence capability.
